Gut-Shot Strategy
Posted in Uncategorized at 11:33 am | Comments Off

Having a gut-shot online poker straight is a frightening proposition-you are on the verge of making a great online poker hand, but you need a very specific card. If your hole cards are a Jack and a 9, and the flop comes out Queen-8-2, then you’ve got some strategizing to do. On the one hand, there’s a chance that you will get one of those four 10’s that can make your hand and win you the pot. On the other hand, you only get two chances (the turn and the river) to get one of those cards, or your hand is busted. Here are a few things to think about when you’ve got a gut-shot straight draw. You are playing a risky game when you’ve got a gut-shot straight-you only have one out to win, and after the flop, you only have two chances o draw it. Placing a feeler bet after the flop should freeze any betting from your opponents and will give you some insight into whether or not you should consider folding your poker hand. If your opponents fold or just call your bet, then you’ve bought yourself a chance at drawing your straight. On the other hand, if your opponents bet against you, then they’ve probably already made their hand, and you’ll be betting from behind. At that point, it’s probably best to fold before you get any more pot-committed.
